Nagging wife, sausage help man win lottery
WELLINGTON, New Zealand - A "nagging" wife who pushed her husband to buy a lottery ticket helped scoop the $4.2 million ($7.7 million New Zealand dollar) first prize — with only minutes to spare. The man from New Zealand's biggest city, Auckland, bought his ticket just two minutes before ticket sales closed Saturday night.
"My wife had been nagging me all week to get a ticket, so I when saw the Lotto sign ... I sprinted in to get the ticket before they closed," said the man, who asked not to be identified — normal practice among lottery winners in New Zealand.
"I must have been their last customer of the night," he said, adding that the young married couple had had a "rough" couple of years, reduced to one income after having children.
"I have never been so glad to listen to my wife's nagging," the man said Tuesday.
He discovered their newly won fortune Sunday thanks to his wife's request for a barbecued sausage.
'All I wanted was a sausage'Out shopping for bargains, the man said he didn't have enough money to buy his wife the sausage she'd asked him for. So he decided to check his Saturday lottery ticket in case he'd won a small prize.
"I could not believe it when they said I was actually the big winner," he said.
When he showed the printout to his wife, she initially thought they had won $4,200.
"When she realized how much it really was, she fell to the floor, and then said: 'but all I wanted was a sausage.'"

So this weekend i had a party to celebrate Chris and Jesse! (his twin sissy) It was pirate themed and so much fun! Thank you to everyone who braved the snow to celebrate!

Shupapalooza!
Today is my wonderful boyfriends 22 birthday!! Chris and i met in 7th grade and it was love at first sight-for him :) we "went out" for a few months and then broke up, then we "went out" again in 8th grade. I have never understood that term because we never actually went anywhere together, but that is not the point. Well, 8th grade Valentines Day, was the highlight of my middle school years. Chris came to school with a dozen red roses(which i still have) and a pink teddy bear(which i have slept with every night since) for me. It was the first time a boy had ever gotten me flowers and i was so excited i carried them around all day! After school there was a Valentines dance that was pretty lame-until... Chris asked me to dance. We danced to Savage Garden and stared at eachother. All of our friends were watching to see what was going to happen. it seemed pretty dramatic at the time! The last chorus of the song came on and that is when it happened. He leaned in and kissed me!! My first kiss!! it was like in Romeo and Juliet when they kiss in the elevator and the whole room starts to spin around them, yeah that is what it was like!! I still get butterflies when i think about that day. Well anyway...to make a long story short we went our seperate ways but i would always think about him. And senior year on my birthday he called to wish me a Happy Day, we started talking and have had a hard time being apart since. It has now been over four years since he called me and i look forward to many many more with him.

A woman that was donating next to me was telling a story about her husband and how he had to have a liver transplant last year. During the surgery alone he went through 45 units of blood and 4-5 units everyday for the next 4 weeks. She started to cry & thank us all for being there, because of people who take the time to donate, her husband is still with her today.
So if you have time today go down to the red cross and donate. If you can't today you can call and make an appointment to go donate as soon as you can!!

Winter Warmth!!
So I know alot of you out there are having the same battle with yourself that you have had for year after year now-
How to Keep Off the Holiday Pounds!
This task is never easy, but i for one have become an expert on it! And as my Christmas gift to you this year i would like to give you some advice on how i keep my girlish figure no matter how many cubes of butter have been added to the mashed potatoes!
1. Avoid carrot sticks. Anyone who puts carrots on a holiday buffet table knows nothing of the Christmas spirit. In fact, if you see carrots, leave immediately. Go next door, where they're serving rum balls.
2. Drink as much eggnog as you can..and quickly. It's rare. You cannot find it any other time of year but now. So drink up! Who cares that it has 10,000 calories in every sip? It's not as if you're going to turn into an eggnog-oholic or something. It's a treat. Enjoy it. Have one for me. Have two. It's later than you think. It's Christmas!
3. If something comes with gravy, use it. That's the whole point of gravy. Gravy does not stand alone. Pour it on. Make a volcano out of your mashed potatoes. Fill it with gravy. Eat the volcano. Repeat.
4. As for mashed potatoes, always ask if they're made with skim milk or whole milk. If it's skim, pass. Why bother? It's like buying a sports car with an automatic transmission.
5. Do not have a snack before going to a party in an effort to control your eating. The whole point of going to a Christmas party is to eat other people's food for free. Lots of it. Hello?
6. Under no circumstances should you exercise between now and New Year's. You can do that in January when you have nothing else to do. This is the time for long naps, which you'll need after circling the buffet table while carrying a 10-pound plate of food and that vat of eggnog.
7. If you come across something really good at a buffet table, like frosted Christmas cookies in the shape and size of Santa, position yourself near them and don't budge. Have as many as you can before becoming the center of attention. They're like a beautiful pair of shoes. If you leave them behind, you're never going to see them again.
8. Same for pies. Apple, pumpkin, mincemeat. Have a slice of each. Or if you don't like mincemeat, have two apples and one pumpkin. Always have three. When else do you get to have more than one dessert? Labor Day?
9. Did someone mention fruit cake? Granted, it's loaded with the mandatory celebratory calories, but avoid it at all cost. I mean, have some standards.
10. One final tip: If you don't feel terrible when you leave the party or get up from the table, you haven't been paying attention. Re-read tips; start over, but hurry, January is just around the corner. Remember this motto to live by: "Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming "WOO HOO what a ride!"

What this season is really about....
This year my dad was asked to do a tree for the festival of trees and if any of you know my dad he always out does himself! He is so incredibly talented in so many ways. He can turn a pile of junk into art. So between my mom's wonderful creativity and my dads incredible talent they put this beautiful tree together.
This tree is in honor of Elizas Foundation. Eliza is a little two year old girl who is suffering from metachromatic leukodystrophy, a degenerative neurological illness.
My dad hand sculpted this life size Santa clause reading his naughty or nice list books (Erin is right after Eliza in the nice book :)) he even custom made the mink lined rob Santa is sporting.
This past summer My younger brother scottie did his eagle project for Eliza as well.

Goodbye For Now
It is a sad day today. Chris has to part ways with his beloved Top Banana Daytona Series Charger. It was a beautiful and (Most of all) FUN car! it was great while it lasted , but it is just not practical anymore (with the snow coming and all)
I think it also has something to do with this "phase" he is in, i think professioanls call it "Growing Up"? weird, i know?...
We will miss racing around and rockin' out, but i told him as soon as he makes a million dollars he can buy it back in every color :)

Ruby!
this Post is about our little ruby. She is growing so fast!! She has already grown out of her first collar and number two is getting snug!! She has learned to sit, stay, shake, and High Five (thanks to Chris' patients and persistence)
Last night i was teaching Ruby how to play fetch. She gets the point of going after the ball and bringing it back, but she does not want to give it to me. She thinks that if she went to all the work of going and retrieving the ball then i should have to play tug to get it back from her. I hope she gets the gist soon because those puppy teeth keep cutting up my hand trying to get the ball back!!
We played fetch for about three hours and we both got a little tired of the game so Ruby gathered up all of her balls and slept with them to keep them safe.
