traditions.

when my grandparents were alive, one of their favorite holidays was easter. My moms whole family would get together and we would bbq and have a big easter egg hunt. my grandma would make an white easter bunny cake with white coconut and big paper ears, since she passed away i have taken over her roll to make her trademark cake every year. i think it really means alot to all of my family to have that remider of her there every year. we miss my grandparents very much, but love that we can keep our family close and let the traditions they started live on.i have added a chocolate bunny into the mix just to keep things interesting.also this year i (and all my helpers :)) made another batch of cupcake pops. this time we did a mix of easter eggs, bunnies,& chicks.

DUDE! You totally out-do me with your creative, atrsy-ness! I am SO not posting my pops now. You are so cute. How dod you make yours so smooth looking? Mine were falling off the sticks, odd-shaped, a big fat mess. (Of course, I was making them with toddlers... Maybe I need to do a practice round alone :)

well..i rolled the cake into balls then dipped the stick in some melted chocolate then put then in the freezer. i melted the chocolate in the microwave in 30 second incraments then if it was still chunky added a little bit of shortening to help thin it out a little bit. you have to post your pops!! i want to see them!!

I did the cake-ball rollin...But didn't freeze after dipping...Just let them air dry. I used a fondue pot to melt the chocolate...Hmmm. Looks like I know what i'm doing tonight :) I will post ONE pop. his whiskers kinda fell...I think he resembles Hitler somewhat :/. You have always been good at baking. Even on our birthdays remember? You'd make me gourmet cookies...And I make oatmeal no-bakes :) I will be like you one day... Mark my words :)

haha you crack me up! yes i remember those days when everyone else forgot our birthdays so we made each other cookies. & i happen to love your no-bake cookies! i didnt freeze them after dipping- just before. i think maybe it had something to do with the toddlers helping...:)
